Dr Miriam Mutebi, MD, MSc, FACS, is a Consultant Breast Surgical Oncologist and Assistant Professor at Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi. A pioneer in her field, she holds the distinction of being the first female breast surgeon in Kenya. Dr Mutebi currently serves as the Immediate President of the African Organization for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC) and sits on the Board of Directors for the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and on the board of the Africa Breast Cancer Council. As a clinical epidemiologist and co-chair of the Kenya National Cancer Taskforce, her work focuses on health systems research and mitigating barriers to cancer care across Sub-Saharan Africa.
